  • does the whole plate ice up top to bottom ( if not then you need to get gas checked)
  • is the condenser clean, washed with a hosepipe properly not just dusted (
  • switch machine off, take a hosepipe and wash the condenser from the back until no more dirt comes out, leave it to dry 30 mins and switch it on)
  • check the drain/dump valve is not leaking, no water must come out in freezing cycle (replace valve, blocking it off will create scale build up and damage the machine and plate)
  • is the room where the ice machine well ventilated, not getting to hot ( extract the heat, fans circulating the heat do not help)
  • what size is the cubes ? not to big (adjust ice thickness, half a turn at a time and wait 3 drops)
  • Has the plate been cleaned with acid/vinegar solution (paint plate with a brush and empty a bottle 750ml in to machine, leave on wash cycle 20 mins)
  • Is the plate worn, copper showing through ( plate needs to be replaced )
  • get the gas in the system checked
